Job summary

Whizmo in Dubai is seeking a Head of Risk and Compliance to lead the Risk and Compliance function and provide independent oversight of regulatory obligations, enterprise risk management and governance. The role ensures operations align with CBUAE regulations, UAE laws and international best practices.

The successful candidate will develop and execute an integrated risk and compliance strategy, oversee AML/CFT, sanctions, third-party risk and reporting to the Board and Senior Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in law, finance, risk management, business or related field.
• 7-10 years of experience in risk, audit or compliance in financial services/fintech.
• CAMS or ICA certification per CBUAE requirements; FRM/CRMA/ISO 31000 are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain Whizmo's Risk and Compliance framework aligned with CBUAE requirements, UAE laws, governance standards and risk appetite.
• Provide independent advice and oversight to the CEO, Senior Management and Board on material risk, compliance and regulatory matters.
• Oversee enterprise risk management including risk assessments, risk appetite, KRIs, control effectiveness, emerging risks and remediation plans.
• Maintain an effective regulatory compliance framework including regulatory change management, monitoring, breach management and reporting.
• Provide oversight of AML/CFT/CPF, sanctions and financial crime risks, coordinating with the MLRO.
• Oversee operational risk, business continuity, technology, cybersecurity, data protection and conduct risk.
• Provide independent oversight of outsourcing and third-party risk including due diligence and monitoring.
• Ensure Risk and Compliance review of new products, services and material business changes.
• Lead engagement with the CBUAE and other regulatory authorities including inspections and remediation.
