Job summary

Coastal is seeking an experienced regulatory compliance specialist to independently draft and review responses to complex complaints from regulators and customers. You will monitor case queues, manage deadlines, and provide data-driven interventions to improve SLA adherence.

You will apply knowledge of consumer protection regulations such as Reg E, Truth in Savings Act, UDAAP, FACTA, Reg Z, Reg B, and FCRA, collaborating with audit teams and external regulators as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in banking compliance, regulatory risk, or fintech complaint handling
• 2+ years of experience in complaint management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage competing deadlines
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data analysis)
• Intermediate proficiency in MS365 tools (PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Word)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Independently draft and review responses to complex complaints from regulatory agencies and customers
• Formulate recommendations and elevate issues internally
• Provide objective challenge to risk management practices
• Manage case queues and ensure SLA compliance through data-driven interventions
• Monitor open complaints daily to guarantee responses meet regulatory deadlines
• Adhere to internal processes, procedures, and job aids
• Assist with requests from outside regulators and internal audit teams
• Maintain knowledge of consumer protection regulations including Reg E, Truth in Savings Act, UDAAP, FACTA, Reg Z, Reg B, and FCRA
