Job summary

IRTH Group is seeking an experienced Finishing Engineer to manage interior fit-out and finishing works in Dubai. The role oversees site execution, quality, trade coordination, and handover, ensuring alignment with designs, schedules, and budgets.

Immediate availability is preferred. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years leading interior finishing in the UAE/GCC, with fit-out company exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in finishing and fit-out works.
• At least 5 years managing interior finishing works in the UAE/GCC.
• Experience with a fit-out company is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of finishing materials, installation methods, detailing and quality standards.
• Ability to interpret architectural and MEP drawings and coordinate interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Manage finishing activities across projects including ceilings, partitions, stone and tile works, painting, joinery, kitchens, wardrobes, doors, glass and FF&E coordination.
• Review IFC and shop drawings, specifications, BOQs and material schedules, and identify issues early.
• Monitor progress against master schedule; coordinate manpower, materials, subcontractors and sequencing.
• Ensure effective MEP coordination and complete inspections/clearances before closing spaces.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, QA/QC, MEP and site teams to resolve issues and maintain progress.
• Supervise subcontractors and monitor workmanship and safety/quality compliance.
• Review material submittals, samples and mock-ups; track long-lead materials and deliveries.
• Conduct site inspections and coordinate inspections/test plans; ensure QA/QC procedures.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Finishing Engineer to manage and coordinate interior fit-out and finishing works across our developments in Dubai. The role will oversee site execution, quality, trade coordination, and handover, ensuring works meet approved designs, project schedules, and budgets.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years managing interior finishing works in the UAE/GCC. Previous experience with a fit-out company is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage finishing activities, including ceilings, partitions, stone and tile works, painting, joinery, kitchens, wardrobes, doors, glass, metalwork, architectural features, and FF&E coordination.
• Review IFC and shop drawings, specifications, BOQs, material schedules, and finishing details, identifying technical issues and execution constraints early.
• Monitor finishing work programmes against the master project schedule and coordinate manpower, materials, subcontractors, and work sequencing.
• Ensure effective MEP coordination, including service interfaces, access requirements, and completion of inspections and clearances before closing ceilings and partitions.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, commercial, QA/QC, MEP, and site teams to resolve issues and maintain progress.
• Supervise subcontractors and monitor workmanship, productivity, and compliance with approved drawings, method statements, and quality standards.
• Review material submittals, samples, and mock-ups; track long-lead materials and verify deliveries against approved specifications.
• Conduct site inspections and coordinate material and work inspection requests, ensuring compliance with inspection and test plans and QA/QC procedures.
• Monitor material consumption and wastage, support progress measurements and variation assessments, and contribute to value engineering.
• Ensure compliance with HSE procedures and applicable authority requirements.
• Manage snagging, defect rectification, and handover readiness, supporting O&M manuals and handover documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in finishing and fit-out works on high-rise residential, villa, hospitality, mixed-use, or commercial projects.
• At least 5 years managing interior finishing works in the UAE/GCC.
• Fit-out company experience is preferred, particularly on premium or luxury developments.
• Strong technical knowledge of finishing materials, installation methods, detailing, and quality standards.
• Proven ability to interpret architectural and MEP drawings and coordinate interfaces between trades.
• Strong planning, subcontractor management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail.
