Job summary

Gulf News is seeking a finishing carpenter to measure, cut, shape and install wood and other materials. The role also involves constructing and repairing doors, cabinets, furniture, partitions, and wooden fixtures, and reading and interpreting basic drawings and work instructions.

You will use hand tools and power tools safely, perform carpentry for new installations and maintenance, inspect finished work for alignment and quality, carry out repairs, maintain tools, and follow health and safety

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, shape, and install wood and other materials.
• Construct and repair doors, cabinets, furniture, partitions, and wooden fixtures.
• Read and interpret basic drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly.
• Perform carpentry work for new installations and maintenance.
• Inspect finished work to ensure proper alignment, quality, and finishing.
• Carry out repairs, adjustments, and replacement of damaged wooden components.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow company health, safety, and workplace procedures.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other trades when required.
