Job summary

BLR WORLD in Dubai seeks a seasoned Financial Controller to steer financial controlling and operations, enhancing reporting, cash management, and compliance. The role demands CPA/CA with GCC regulatory knowledge and solid experience in IFRS/GAAP, tax, and audits.

Responsibilities include leading financial reporting, cash forecasting, bank reconciliations, and month-end close, while advising the executive team on financial strategy. Office-based with some WFH flexibility.

Qualifications

• Chartered or Certified Accountant or equivalent (CPA CMA CA ACCA CIMA).
• Proven experience in a similar role (Accounting Manager or Financial Controller).
• Proficiency in accounting software (Xero and Zoho Books), Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting and management reporting processes.
• Oversee statutory compliance and tax regulations across GCC and international jurisdictions.
• Manage cash forecasting, reconciliations and banking relationships.
• Oversee accounts receivable/payable, GL oversight, month-end and year-end close.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the executive team.

About the role

As Financial Controller you will be a pivotal force in steering our financial controlling and financial operations to new heights. Responsible for overseeing accounting and finance functions you will bring a wealth of experience to enhance our financial and management reporting cash management performance audit compliance and strategic decision-making support.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Spearhead the preparation of comprehensive daily weekly monthly quarterly and annual financial and management reports.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis presenting insights to drive informed decision-making.
• Generate detailed financial reports emphasizing key variances.

Statutory Compliance:

• Oversee the accurate and timely filing of statutory returns staying abreast of evolving regulatory landscapes.
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits and assessments.
  Maintain an up-to-date understanding of tax regulations across GCC and international jurisdictions.

Cash Management:

• Lead daily cash management activities and forecast ensuring operational liquidity.
• Lead daily bank reconciliations and formulate and execute cash forecasting strategies.
• Resolve discrepancies and optimize banking relationships.

Accounts Receivable and Payable Management:

• Drive efficient accounts receivable processes ensuring accuracy in customer transactions.
• Streamline accounts payable workflows ensuring precise coding and approval processes.
• Implement effective reconciliation mechanisms for both accounts and lead collections.

General Ledger Oversight:

• Lead the recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.
• Lead the reconciliation of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Play a vital role in month-end and year-end closing activities and prepare reports.
  

Strategic Financial Management:

• Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize performance and achieve organizational goals.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the executive team and key stakeholders.

Miscellaneous:

• Any other responsibilities assigned by the CFO and the CEO.

Requirements

• Chartered or Certified Accountant. CPA CMA CA ACCA CIMA
• Degree in Accounting Finance or related field
• Proven experience in a similar role e.g. Accounting Manager Financial Controller
• Proficiency in accounting software (Xero and Zoho Books) Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
• Fresh knowledge of IFFRS GAAP statutory compliance and tax regulations across GCC and internationally

Location & Commitments

• Full-time contracted

Salary & Benefits

• Maximum salary of AED 33000 per month
