Job summary

AirQ Limited is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to own day-to-day finance operations, cash-flow management, management reporting and controls from its Abu Dhabi base.

You will work directly with financial data, review entries, maintain cash forecasts, perform reconciliations and produce clear, accurate management reports for senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• ACCA CMA CPA CA or equivalent qualification strongly preferred.
• 6–10 years progressive finance experience with at least 2 years in a Financial Controller role.
• Demonstrated UAE VAT, Corporate Tax coordination and statutory audit support experience.
• Strong closing, forecasting and balance-sheet reconciliation skills.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience, preferably Odoo.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly and annual financial close and ensure accuracy.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to take full ownership of day-to-day finance operations cash-flow management management reporting financial controls and statutory coordination.

This is not a large-team corporate management role. The successful candidate must be comfortable working directly with financial data reviewing accounting entries maintaining cash forecasts completing reconciliations and producing clear and accurate management reports.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Flow and Treasury

• Maintain daily visibility of all bank and cash balances.
• Prepare and maintain a rolling 13-week cash-flow forecast.
• Maintain monthly cash-flow projections through year-end.
• Monitor actual committed and forecast receipts and payments.
• Reconcile cash-flow reporting to bank statements and the general ledger.
• Identify liquidity risks and escalate material forecast variances promptly.
• Coordinate payment runs and ensure compliance with approval controls.

Accounting and Financial Close

• Own the monthly and annual financial closing process.
• Review general-ledger entries accruals prepayments depreciation and provisions.
• Ensure timely bank supplier customer and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Review the Accountants work for accuracy completeness and supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate accounting records in Odoo.
• Ensure correct treatment of revenue deferred income project costs and related-party balances.

Management Reporting and FP&A

• Prepare monthly P&L balance sheet and cash-flow reporting.
• Produce weekly finance dashboards covering liquidity collections payables commitments and financial risks.
• Prepare annual budgets rolling forecasts and scenario analyses.
• Analyze performance against budget and forecast.
• Provide concise explanations for material variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Support management decisions with financial models and commercial analysis.

Working Capital and Commercial Support

• Monitor accounts receivable ageing and collection activity.
• Monitor accounts payable supplier commitments and due dates.
• Coordinate with Commercial Supply Chain Operations and HR to obtain reliable forecast inputs.
• Review the financial impact of significant purchase orders customer contracts and advance payments.
• Support project and product cost analysis where required.

Compliance Tax and Audit

• Coordinate VAT and Corporate Tax requirements with external advisers.
• Ensure complete and timely provision of finance records to advisers and auditors.
• Maintain a finance compliance and filing calendar.
• Ensure adherence to IFRS company policies and UAE regulatory requirements.
• Strengthen internal controls and maintain an appropriate audit trail.

Process Improvement

• Improve Odoo usage reporting quality and data accuracy.
• Standardize finance templates closing checklists and approval workflows.
• Reduce manual reporting and introduce appropriate automation.
• Maintain clear finance procedures and responsibility matrices.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related discipline.
• ACCA CMA CPA CA or equivalent qualification strongly preferred.
• 6 to 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
• At least 2 years in a Financial Controller role.
• Demonstrated UAE experience in VAT Corporate Tax coordination and statutory audit support.
• Strong experience in monthly closing cash-flow forecasting and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Odoo or a comparable ERP; direct Odoo experience preferred.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Experience in manufacturing aerospace technology project-based or trading environments is advantageous

Success Measures

• Daily cash position is accurate and available.
• Thirteen-week forecast is updated weekly and reconciled.
• Monthly close is completed by the agreed deadline.
• Balance-sheet accounts are supported and reconciled.
• Management reports explain material variances and required actions.
• Collections payables and compliance obligations are actively monitored.
• No material payment filing or audit requirement is missed due to a lack of finance follow-up.
• Odoo and management reports remain consistent and traceable.
