Job summary

Kraken is recruiting for a Head of Finance & Custody for its Dubai VARA-regulated VASP entity. You will own finance reporting, regulatory submissions, and governance, while safeguarding client money and assets under a robust control framework.

The role bridges Group Finance, Client Asset Office, and local operations, requiring leadership, regulatory insight, and a proactive, hands-on approach in a fast-evolving crypto regulatory environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with experience in financial services, ideally VARA-regulated or similar regulatory regimes.
• Experience safeguarding, custody, or client asset controls in crypto/e-money environments.
• Knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills, with cross-functional project experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounts for the VARA VASP entity and review budgets vs actuals.
• Prepare VARA regulatory reporting packs and liaise with VARA on information requests.
• Lead budgeting/forecasts with Group FP&A and monitor NLA headroom thresholds.
• Support audit processes and coordinate with Group Finance on local regulatory reporting.
