Job description

Are you an experienced Field Operator looking for a rewarding career in the power generation industry? A leading energy company in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is hiring a Field Operator to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, utility systems, and associated plant equipment.

In this role, you will monitor plant operations, inspect equipment, report operational issues, maintain safety standards, and assist with maintenance and commissioning activities to ensure continuous power generation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, and utility equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor plant performance and record operating parameters during shifts.
• Report equipment abnormalities and operational issues to the Shift Supervisor or Main Control Room Operator.
• Perform routine inspections to ensure plant equipment operates within specified limits.
• Assist with equipment testing, commissioning, and recommissioning following maintenance activities.
• Ensure standby equipment is available and ready for emergency operation.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures to maintain a safe workplace.
• Identify workplace hazards and participate in safety reporting initiatives.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across assigned operational areas.
• Support emergency response procedures and follow plant operating instructions.
• Participate in on-the-job training and continuously improve technical skills.
• Collaborate effectively with operations and maintenance teams to ensure uninterrupted plant performance.

Additional Roles – Jebel Ali Site

For Operator Turbine & Boiler and Assistant Operator positions, responsibilities focus primarily on:

• Gas Turbine Operations
• Steam Turbine Operations
• Associated Plant Equipment
• Utility Systems

Qualifications

• Higher Secondary School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Technical training in power plant operations is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a power generation plant.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Desalination Operator or in a similar industrial operations role.
• Experience operating gas turbines, steam turbines or utility systems is highly desirable.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of power plant operations and equipment.
• Ability to interpret single-line electrical diagrams.
• Basic mathematical and engineering calculations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• Computer literacy and basic IT knowledge.
• Ability to prepare shift reports in English.
