Job summary

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) at Jebel Ali site seeks Operators for Turbine and Boiler and an Assistant Operator to run gas turbines, steam turbines and related plant equipment safely and efficiently. You will record readings, report deviations, and coordinate with Control Room and Supervisors.

The role requires 4 years of power station experience, plus 2 years as a Desalination Operator PG7 or equivalent. Join a team focused on safety, reliability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• English language skills to prepare and complete shift reports (Intermediates level)
• Strong communication skills required
• Basic numeracy, including percentages and unit conversions
• Ability to read single-line diagrams and use IT tools

Responsibilities

• Operate gas turbines, steam turbines and associated plant equipment safely and efficiently
• Record routine parameter readings and report deviations
• Inform Supervisor/Control Room of abnormalities or problems
• Ensure standby equipment is ready for service in an emergency
• Assist in testing and recommissioning after maintenance outages
• Adopt safe working practices to protect personnel and plant
• Identify hazards and participate in reporting systems
• Maintain housekeeping standards
• Be conversant with emergency procedures for designated equipment
• Carry out on-the-job training and strive to increase competency

Jebel Ali Site Additional RolesOperator Turbine and BoilerAssistant OperatorAt Jebel Ali Site for the roles of Operator Turbine and Boiler and Assistant Operator the above accountabilities will be restricted to gas turbines steam turbines associated plant equipment and related utilities

• Ensure that all plant and equipment under his control are operated in a safe and efficient manner
• Ensure that all instructions are carried out promptly and efficiently
• Record routine parameter readings on a regular basis and report deviations
• Inform the Supervisor or Control Room of any abnormalities or problems with equipment
• Ensure standby equipment is readily available for service in an emergency
• Assist in carrying out routine testing and recommissioning of plant after maintenance outages
• Adopt safe working practices to ensure personal and plant safety
• Identify hazards and participate effectively in the reporting system
• Maintain good standards of housekeeping
• Be fully conversant with all emergency procedures related to the equipment in his designated area of responsibility

• Minimum QualificationsHigher Secondary School Certificate.

• Minimum Experience4 years of experience in a power station.
• 2 years of work experience as Desalination Operator PG7 or equivalent experience gained in a similar industry.
