Job summary

Harmattan AI in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Forward Deployed Software Engineer to design, build, and deploy software for defense partners. You will own end-to-end solutions, from architecture through deployment, working closely with partner teams and end users in demanding field conditions.

You will leverage Python, C++, Rust, or Go to deliver mission-critical software, with on-site deployment and ongoing iteration based on operator feedback.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building and shipping production software in Python and at least one lower-level language.
• Track record delivering end-to-end systems from requirements to deployed solutions.
• Experience owning software end-to-end on Linux in field conditions.
• Strong communication with client teams and stakeholders; bias to action.

Responsibilities

• Design and build software applications that solve operational problems for partners, end-to-end.
• Translate loosely defined requirements from partner militaries into working software under tight timelines.
• Build interfaces and connectors between platforms and partner systems; validate data flows in field.
• Deploy solutions on site; gather feedback from operators and iterate quickly.
• Identify capabilities worth adding to core product and work with platform team to integrate.
• Debug live issues in operational settings and document learnings.
• Develop real working relationships with client teams and end users to understand problems deeply.
