Role Context The Façade Surveyor will provide the dimensional control required to convert approved façade designs into accurately fabricated and installed building envelope systems. The role demands precise verification of structural openings, slab edges, grids, levels, brackets, reference lines, and installation interfaces before information is released for manufacturing or site execution. Survey accuracy directly affects fabrication tolerances, material fit, façade alignment, and installation productivity. By identifying discrepancies early and supplying dependable measurement records to Design, Engineering, Production, and Project teams, the role helps prevent rework, fabrication errors, and delays during façade installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed site surveys for curtain walls, glazing, cladding, aluminum windows, doors, louvers, and other façade systems.
• Measure and verify actual site dimensions, structural openings, slab edges, levels, grids, and interface conditions against approved drawings.
• Establish survey control points, benchmarks, datums, reference lines, and setting-out points required for façade works.
• Check horizontal and vertical control before fabrication and installation activities proceed.
• Identify dimensional discrepancies between constructed conditions and architectural, structural, or approved shop drawings.
• Record survey findings accurately and communicate deviations that could affect façade fabrication or installation.
• Prepare measurement records, survey reports, sketches, marked-up drawings, and supporting technical information.
• Provide verified site dimensions to Design and Engineering teams for shop drawing development and revision.
• Coordinate with Site Engineers, Project Managers, Consultants, and technical disciplines to resolve dimensional conflicts.
• Support façade designers and engineers with accurate information on structural interfaces and available installation tolerances.
• Carry out setting-out for façade brackets, anchors, support systems, panels, curtain wall frames, and other installation components.
• Verify line, level, plumb, alignment, positioning, and dimensional tolerances during installation.
• Conduct progressive checks of installed façade elements to confirm compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Monitor critical façade reference points throughout construction to detect movement or dimensional changes.
• Coordinate survey requirements with Structural, Civil, and MEP teams where building interfaces affect façade installation.
• Identify clashes, access restrictions, tolerance concerns, and structural conditions that could obstruct installation.
• Operate Total Station, Auto Level, Laser Level, and other appropriate surveying instruments.
• Complete required survey calculations involving coordinates, elevations, offsets, dimensions, and levels.
• Ensure survey instruments remain calibrated, protected, and suitable for accurate site use.
• Maintain organized survey records that provide traceability for completed measurements and setting-out activities.
• Support preparation of as-built surveys and final dimensional records at project completion.
• Verify installed positions for inclusion in as-built drawings and handover documentation.
• Promptly elevate survey deviations, structural inconsistencies, and installation risks to Project and Engineering teams.
• Participate in site coordination meetings and technical reviews where measurement or interface issues require resolution.
• Follow project HSE procedures and safe working practices while carrying out surveys at height, around active construction areas, and near façade installation zones.

Ideal Profile

• Diploma or Bachelor 's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5-8 years of relevant site surveying experience.
• Previous experience with aluminum façade, curtain wall, glazing, cladding, or building envelope projects is strongly preferred.
• Proven capability in high-rise or large-scale construction surveying.
• Proficient in Total Station, Auto Level, Laser Level, and modern measurement equipment.
• Strong understanding of setting-out, benchmarks, coordinates, datums, elevations, and dimensional control.
• Familiar with façade systems, structural interfaces, anchors, brackets, curtain wall framing, and installation tolerances.
• Able to interpret architectural, structural, façade, and shop drawings accurately.
• Experienced in identifying discrepancies between design information and actual site conditions.
• Comfortable preparing survey sketches, marked-up drawings, measurement records, and technical reports.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of BIM or Revit workflows is advantageous.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to resolve site measurement challenges through practical analysis and coordination.
• Comfortable working with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Consultants, Designers, and installation teams.
