Duties and Responsibilities
The primary duties of a facade supervisor include:
- On-Site Supervision: Supervise and manage daily facade installation, finishing activities, and the associated workforce, ensuring alignment with project schedules and deadlines.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure all work complies with design specifications, quality standards (e.g., CWCT, ASTM, EN standards), and contractual obligations.
- Safety Enforcement: Monitor and enforce strict health and safety protocols and regulations, conduct safety meetings, and ensure all permit-to-work procedures are followed.
- Coordination and Communication: Liaise closely with project managers, main contractors, subcontractors, architects, and other trades to resolve technical challenges and manage interfaces effectively.
- Material Management: Oversee the proper handling, storage, and efficient use of facade materials (e.g., curtain walls, cladding, glazing and ACP).
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate daily site reports, including manpower, materials used, progress updates, inspection records, and checklists.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve discrepancies, defects, or quality issues in a timely manner to prevent delays and ensure the project progresses smoothly.

Qualifications and Skills
Successful facade supervisors typically possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Education: A diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field is often a preferred requirement.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction facade works or supervising site operations, with a proven track record in installation, is essential. Experience in the local region (e.g., UAE/GCC) is often advantageous.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong, in-depth knowledge of various facade systems, materials, construction methods, and industry standards.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and team management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for coordinating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in relevant software (MS Office; AutoCAD is a plus).
