Job summary

Aventus Global Talent is partnering with a leading UAE banking group to appoint an Executive Director, Head of Business Governance in Abu Dhabi. This senior role leads the First Line of Defence governance and controls across Investment Banking and Markets.

The successful candidate will establish a robust governance framework, collaborating with Risk, Compliance and other control functions to strengthen risk management, accountability and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Banking, Finance, Management or related discipline.
• Professional certification in Risk, Compliance, AML/CFT or Financial Crime advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead IB&M First Line governance and controls framework across Investment Banking & Markets, overseeing risk tracking and control design.
• Coordinate regulatory engagement, examinations, information requests and reporting with Compliance and Risk.
• Establish governance across Coverage, Global Markets and Global Corporate Finance, overseeing KRIs, issues, incidents and remediation.
• Oversee issues from regulatory reviews, Compliance monitoring and Internal Audit with clear ownership and timely remediation.
• Lead governance reporting and senior management committees, analyse risk trends and emerging risks.
• Partner with IB business on policy implementation, risk thresholds, and alignment with UAE and Group requirements.
