Job summary

Azizi Industries is seeking a skilled Estimator to support tender analysis and cost estimation for aluminum curtain wall and glass facade projects in the UAE. The role involves reviewing drawings, calculating material take-offs, and coordinating with engineers and suppliers to define specifications.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field and 4–7 years of direct estimation experience in facade contracting, with GCC/UAE exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering.
• 4–7 years minimum direct estimation experience in aluminum curtain wall and glass facade contracting (GCC/UAE preferred).

Responsibilities

• Analyze tender drawings, specifications, BOQs and contract conditions.
• Prepare material take-offs for aluminum profiles, structural glass, steel inserts, brackets, sealants, gaskets and hardware.
• Identify project scope gaps, technical risks, missing details and send RFIs to consultants/clients.
• Compute direct and indirect costs including materials, fabrication, coating, logistics, equipment rental and site installation labour.
• Coordinate with structural engineers and system suppliers to define structural profile weights and glass performance specs.
• Prepare complete technical and commercial tender submission packages and value engineering options.
• Participate in tender clarification meetings, negotiations and cost optimization with main contractors or developers.
• Assist in budget handover and project baseline creation with Operations and PM teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tender Analysis & Quantity Takeoff

• Document Review: Thoroughly analyze tender drawings, specifications, BOQs (Bills of Quantities), and contract conditions.
• MTO Preparation: Perform detailed Material Take-Offs (MTO) for aluminum profiles, structural glass, steel inserts, brackets, sealants, gaskets, and hardware accessories.
• Scope Identification: Identify project scope gaps, technical risks, missing details, and send formal RFIs (Requests for Information) to consultants/clients.

2. Cost Estimation & Commercial Pricing

• Cost Build-Up: Calculate direct and indirect costs, including raw materials, fabrication, powder coating/anodizing, logistics, equipment rental (cranes, cradles, spider cranes), and site installation labor.
• System Design Coordination: Coordinate with structural engineers and system suppliers (e.g., Schuco, Technal, Reynaers, Cortizo, or custom die profiles) to define optimal structural profile weights and glass performance specs.
• Commercial Proposals: Prepare complete technical and commercial tender submission packages, breakdown schedules, and value engineering options.

3. Vendor & Subcontractor Evaluation

• RFQ Issuance: Send inquiries to material suppliers (glass fabricators, aluminum extruders, hardware suppliers) and specialized subcontractors (testing labs, sealant applicators).
• Comparative Analysis: Prepare commercial and technical bid evaluation sheets to select cost-effective suppliers without compromising system specifications.

4. Post-Tender & Handover Operations

• Client Negotiations: Participate in tender clarification meetings, value engineering negotiations, and cost optimization discussions with main contractors or developers.
• Budget Handover: Upon project award, prepare the initial project baseline budget and conduct formal handover meetings with the Operations and Project Management teams.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.

Experience

Minimum of 4-7 years of direct estimation experience in aluminum curtain wall and glass facade contracting (GCC / UAE experience preferred).

System Knowledge

Deep understanding of structural glazing, unitized facade panels, stick curtain walls, aluminum composite panels (ACP), louvers, and point-fixed glass systems.

Standards Knowledge

Familiarity with ASTM, BS EN, CWCT, and local civil defense/building codes regarding thermal, acoustic, structural, and fire safety ratings.
