Job summary

HUMAN-AI-Z Nexus Technology is seeking an experienced MEP Estimator for data center projects in the UAE. You will lead cost estimation from concept to detail, perform quantity take-offs from drawings and BIM models, and benchmark subcontractor bids to guide leadership decisions.

You will collaborate with design, preconstruction, procurement, and operations to validate scope and mitigate risks. The role requires 5–8+ years in MEP estimating, strong BIM and Estimating tool proficiency, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field
• 5–8+ years of MEP estimating experience in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction
• Proven data center estimating experience (strong preference)
• Proficiency with BIM software (Revit, Navisworks) and estimating tools (Bluebeam, Touchplan)
• SQL or data analytics skills a plus; knowledge of PUE and redundancy tiers preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Class 5–1 MEP cost estimates (conceptual through detailed) following AACE standards, covering HVAC, electrical distribution, UPS, generators, fire protection, plumbing, BMS, and low-voltage systems
• Execute detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and BIM models; develop cost breakdowns across labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, indirects, escalation, and contingency
• Solicit, evaluate, and benchmark subcontractor and supplier quotes; conduct bid comparisons and deliver commercial recommendations to leadership
• Collaborate with design engineers, preconstruction, procurement, and operations teams to validate scope, align assumptions, and identify cost and schedule risks
• Support value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize costs without compromising redundancy or reliability requirements critical to data center operations
• Maintain and evolve historical cost databases, benchmarks, and metrics specific to data center MEP systems; prepare basis of estimate (BOE) documents and client-ready presentations
• Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, governance frameworks, and SOX/internal control requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field
• 5–8+ years of MEP estimating experience in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction environments
• Proven experience estimating data center projects (hyperscale, enterprise, or colocation facilities) — this is strongly preferred and a key differentiator
• Proficiency with BIM software (Revit, Navisworks) and estimating tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Touchplan, or equivalent); SQL or data analytics skills a plus
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, UPS/generator systems, fire protection, and BMS in data center contexts
• Demonstrated ability to solicit, analyze, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes; experience benchmarking costs against industry standards
• Nice to have: AACE certification (CCC or CEP), experience with AWS/Azure/hyperscaler technical requirements, or familiarity with data center operational metrics (PUE, redundancy tiers)
