Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for tenders and project bids
• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and schedules to determine material and labour requirements
• Conduct market research to create data on material and labour costs
• Estimate unit rates including materials, equipment, labour, overheads, and profit margins
• Prepare cost breakdowns and summaries for clients and project managers
• Identify and manage project risks and contingencies
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate cost estimates
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and technological advancements in cost estimation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimation for civil and architectural projects
• Strong understanding of cost estimation principles, tools, and techniques
