Abu Alanga Contracting and Development is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Estimation & Cost Control Manager to lead our estimating and cost management functions across construction and development projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in quantity take-off, BOQ preparation, tender estimation, cost planning, budgeting, cost control, subcontractor evaluation, and commercial analysis, combined with excellent leadership and team-management capabilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the estimation and cost control function for construction and development projects.
- Prepare accurate and competitive BOQs, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, budgets, and tender pricing.
- Review architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify project requirements and risks.
- Develop detailed project cost plans, budgets, and cost forecasts from pre-construction through project completion.
- Analyze material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and specialist work costs to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Prepare and evaluate tender submissions, quotations, rate analysis, and commercial comparisons.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier quotations, negotiations, and commercial evaluations.
- Establish and maintain effective cost control systems to monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
- Track variations, change orders, claims, commitments, actual costs, and forecast final costs.
- Identify cost overruns, commercial risks, and potential savings and implement appropriate cost optimization measures.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Site Teams.
- Prepare regular cost reports, budget reports, cash-flow forecasts, and management reports for senior management.
- Review project performance and provide management with accurate commercial and financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the estimation and cost control team, ensuring high standards of accuracy, accountability, and performance.
- Establish standardized procedures and best practices for estimating, BOQ preparation, budgeting, and cost control.
- Ensure all estimates and cost reports are prepared with a high level of accuracy, transparency, and commercial discipline.
REQUIREMENTS
- ·Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- ·10–12 years of relevant experience in construction estimation, quantity surveying, commercial management, and cost control.
- ·Strong experience in building construction, high-rise, residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
- ·Proven expertise in BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, rate analysis, tender estimation, budgeting, and cost control.
- ·Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, materials, construction methodologies, and market rates.
- ·Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate and commercially competitive estimates.
- ·Strong experience in subcontractor/supplier evaluation, negotiations, variations, claims, and commercial analysis.
- ·Excellent knowledge of cost-control systems, forecasting, budget monitoring, and financial reporting.
- ·Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
- ·Excellent analytical, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- ·High level of attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- ·Ability to work under pressure and meet tight tender and project deadlines.
- ·Proficiency in Excel and relevant estimation/cost-control software.
- ·UAE/GCC construction experience is highly preferred.
