Job summary

Surbana Jurong Group (SJ Group) is seeking a Traction Power Engineer for a confidential metro rolling stock consultancy bid project in Dubai. You will oversee the end-to-end design integration and commissioning of traction power supply systems to ensure reliable power delivery for rolling stock.

Join a global multidisciplinary team delivering infrastructure across the GCC. 15+ years in traction power for metro/rail, GCC experience, and RTA background are highly valued.

Qualifications

• MSc/BSc in Electrical or Power Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years experience in traction power systems for metro/rail projects.
• Strong experience in power systems design high voltage installations and interface management.
• Prior GCC project experience essential; RTA background preferred.
• Proficiency with ETAP/PSCAD or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews and system sizing for traction substations and distribution networks.
• Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of traction power infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with RTA and international standards (IEC/IEEE).
• Coordinate interfaces with SCADA, OCS and rolling stock teams.
• Support power system analysis, failure mode assessments and mitigation planning.

We are currently inviting Expressions of Interest for the following roles as part of a confidential metro rolling stock consultancy bid project in Dubai. All positions are full-time UAE-based and require strong GCC experience with preference given to candidates with RTA project exposure.

About the Role: The Traction Power Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end design integration and commissioning of traction power supply systems. This role ensures reliable power delivery to all rolling stock and supports overall system safety availability and performance throughout execution and DLP phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews system sizing and configuration of traction substations and distribution networks
• Supervise installation testing and commissioning of traction power infrastructure
• Ensure compliance with RTA and international standards (IEC IEEE)
• Conduct interface coordination with SCADA OCS and rolling stock teams
• Support power system analysis failure mode assessments and mitigation planning

Requirements
