Job description

About the Role:

This role supports enterprise-wide transformation across infrastructure, applications, and data platforms in the regulated sector. The technology estate includes Microsoft Azure, Oracle platforms, modern data analytics platforms, and a mix of legacy and cloud-native applications.

The Enterprise Architect provides strategic and technical leadership across cloud migration, Oracle platform modernisation, application transformation, and data platform initiatives.

The role ensures architectural integrity, alignment with enterprise standards, and effective governance across multiple concurrent programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Enterprise Architecture Strategy & Governance o Define, maintain, and communicate the target state architecture across cloud, data, and application domains. o Align solutions to enterprise goals, regulatory requirements, and technology standards.Representarchitecture governance forums (e.g., ARB, TDA, Design Authorities).

2. Cloud Architecture (Azure Focus) o Define and/or support cloud migration strategies for IaaS/PaaS workloads.Support the design of Azure landing zones, identity and access architecture (Entra), and hybrid connectivity. Provide oversight on cloud-native architecture patterns and deployments.

3. Oracle Platform Modernisation Guide the transition of Oracle workloads (Exadata, OCI) to cloud or co-location platforms. Define patterns for Oracle DR/HA, compliance, and integration with cloud services.

4. Data Platform Architecture o Design and govern enterprise data platforms (data lakes, warehouses, real-time streaming).Ensure solutions meet scalability, governance, lineage, and compliance requirements.

5. Application & Infrastructure Transformation o Define reference architectures for modernising legacy applications (containerisation, PaaS, SaaS). o Align infrastructure transformation initiatives with application and data dependencies.

6. Architecture Artefacts & Technical Oversight RESTRICTED Produce and maintain HLDs, standards, integration views, and architecture decisions. Conduct architecture reviews and assurance activities during project delivery.

7. Stakeholder Engagement & Vendor Collaboration Work with business stakeholders to translate objectives into architectural requirements. Coordinate with third-party delivery partners and internal engineering teams. Evaluate vendor solutions and contribute to technology selection processes.

Qualifications:

• Batchelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (mandatory) • TOGAF 9.2/10 or equivalent architecture certification (preferred)

• Azure Architect Expert (desirable)

• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect (desirable)

Preferred Experience:

10+ years in enterprise/solution architecture roles across complex IT landscapes, preferably in a regulated environment

• Deep hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid solutions.

• Experience with data engineering platforms, data lake architecture, and big data analytics in a regulated environment.

• Strong knowledge of application transformation, integration architecture, and cloud-native design.

• Proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks, especially TOGAF.

• Understanding of UAE regulatory environments and public sector compliance requirements.

• Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience working with SI partners and multi-vendor environments.
