Job description

Role : Enterprise Architect

Location : Abu Dhabi

Role Purpose: The Enterprise Architect role will be responsible for designing enterprise-wide architecture solutions that align with our corporate banking and risk management strategies. This Enterprise Architect will collaborate with Wholesale Banking business leaders, subject matter experts and IT leadership to develop technology roadmaps, build and optimize a holistic vision and create required architecture artifacts pertaining to Wholesale Banking at ADIB.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Collaborate with business and senior management to define the technology roadmap and strategic initiatives for corporate banking and risk management.
  2. Understand ADIB’s Wholesale business strategy and provide thought leadership to business and IT on how this strategy can be delivered. Leading decision‑making on strategic technology choices for key functional capabilities and establishing the architectural definitions which enable these choices to be implemented.
  3. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends and recommend innovative solutions to enhance corporate banking and risk management capabilities.
  4. Monitor the current and future needs of the Wholesale Banking Line‑of‑Business and ensures they are being met in a sustainable manner and based on established best practices.
  5. Architecture Design: Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture for corporate banking and risk management systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  6. Solution Development: Design and oversee the implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions that support corporate banking operations and risk management processes.
  7. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with technology solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  8. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and external partners to gather requirements and provide technical guidance.
  9. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of Enterprise‑wide Architecture focusing on application, data and infrastructure levels in the EA repository and mapping of IT capabilities to business needs.
  10. Define the current and future state architectures for Wholesale Banking systems based on strategy, focusing on areas of architecture in accordance with business needs.
  11. Negotiate and implement technical, process and architectural standards as required.
  12. Develop Enterprise Architecture artefacts pertaining to Wholesale Banking, including domain and business unit roadmaps.
  13. Produce and maintain the content of the centrally managed architectural frameworks, including functional, process and technology architectures, ensuring that this content can be used practically to plan, direct and implement change.
  14. Advise on the set of services that Enterprise Architecture provides to the organization. Design EA department processes in line with TOGAF and advice on associated KPIs.
Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role
  1. Understanding of main Banking business areas with in-depth knowledge of Wholesale banking and global transaction banking business.
  2. In-depth understanding of EA and Banking architecture frameworks e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, BIAN, OAGiS, etc. and all services that the Enterprise Architecture team provides to the Bank.
  3. In-depth knowledge of integration and business process management standards and technologies (SOAP, REST XML, MQ, web services, ESB and BPM etc.). Experience of software development/design with one or more integration technologies.
  4. The candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of Enterprise Architecture best practices within banks and has a broad understanding of the products, services, processes and structures within Wholesale Banking ecosystem.
  5. Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills to collaborate with different business units, teams within IT and senior executives.
  7. In-depth knowledge of any Enterprise Architecture tool e.g. IBM System Architect, Orbus iServer, Troux, Abacus, Alfabet, Mega, ServiceNow, etc.
  8. Knowledge of Cloud concepts (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS etc.) and architecture level knowledge of Cloud platforms and Cloud‑native/micro‑services solutions.
  9. Knowledge of DevOps and Agile development concepts and their application to banking IT environments.
