Job summary

GEMS Education in Abu Dhabi seeks a skilled English Language and Literature teacher to deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum, promoting academic excellence, student engagement, and wellbeing. The role requires innovative teaching practices, effective assessment, safeguarding and inclusion, and collaboration with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.

A minimum of two years teaching experience and an English major are expected.

Qualifications

• ADEK qualifications required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education with MOFA attestation and equivalency.
• Subject qualification - Major in English.
• Certified teaching qualification (TLS) or Diploma in Teaching.
• IELTS or English MOI letter from University.
• At least 2 years’ teaching experience.
• Creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
• Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in departmental planning, curriculum development, and school improvement initiatives.
• Attend staff meetings, PD sessions, parent meetings, and school events.
