Job summary

SSE Engineering AG is seeking an Engineering Technology & AI Lead to transform how we design, engineer and deliver projects through technology, automation and AI. You will work with engineering and design teams to identify repetitive workflows, then redesign processes around AI while preserving technical judgment and accountability.

The role focuses on engineering workflows initially, with expansion across SSE’s support functions.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience building and deploying Generative AI / Agentic AI solutions.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, AI agents, APIs, databases and cloud technologies.
• Experience processing and working with unstructured data such as PDFs, documents and images.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, data integration and production deployment.
• Experience with frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI or AutoGen is a plus.
• Engineering, construction, architecture, BIM or technical project experience is highly desirable.
• Strong ability to translate real business/engineering problems into practical technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Map SSEs engineering workflows and identify the 10–20 highest-volume / highest-friction processes.
• Assess opportunities based on hours × frequency × complexity × error risk × automation potential.
• Redesign workflows to increase engineering capacity, speed and quality.
• Build and deploy practical GenAI, RAG, AI-agent and automation solutions.
• Build SSEs internal Engineering AI Layer around SSE Data, SSE Standards, SSE Workflows and SSE Engineering Knowledge.
• Connect and integrate AI into existing engineering tools, systems and data.
• Build systems that capture and reuse SSEs engineering knowledge across projects.
• Measure impact through time saved, capacity created, quality improved and rework reduced.
• Establish a repeatable approach across Finance, HR, BD, Operations and other functions.

SSE is looking for an Engineering Technology & AI Lead to help us be more efficient in how we design, engineer and deliver projects through technology, automation and AI.

This is not a traditional IT or “AI tools” role. You will work directly with our engineering and design teams to understand how work is done, identify where time and effort are being lost, and redesign workflows around technology and AI.

Your job is to determine how software and AI can reduce the repetitive work, while keeping technical judgement, validation and accountability with the engineer.

Engineering will be the first focus, with the capability eventually expanding across SSEs support functions.
