Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts in Ras Al Khaimah is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to lead the hotel engineering team, overseeing maintenance and repairs of facilities and systems to ensure safety, efficiency, and guest comfort. The role requires strong leadership and technical knowledge across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety, with the ability to read blueprints and manage budgets.

Qualifications

• Requires proven supervisory experience in hotel engineering or facilities management.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire safety systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the engineering team to ensure timely and effective maintenance and repair of hotel facilities and equipment.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance programs and emergency repairs.
• Conduct regular inspections of hotel systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, elevators, etc.) to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.
• Manage work orders, maintenance logs, and ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers for outsourced maintenance and repair work.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate engineering staff performance.
• Monitor inventory levels of engineering supplies and equipment; requisition materials as necessary.
• Assist in developing and managing the engineering budget, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
• Ensure adherence to all local regulations, codes, and hotel policies related to safety and maintenance.
• Respond to urgent engineering issues and provide solutions in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to support operational needs and guest satisfaction.
