Overview
Eaton is seeking an Engineering Operations Manager for our Life Safety Division to lead and execute engineering programmes focused on New Product Introduction (NPI) and Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) across the Life Safety product lines. The successful candidate will drive programme delivery, ensure alignment with business goals, and foster cross‑functional collaboration across global teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team in the NPI program management and VAVE functions across all Life Safety locations.
- Plan and execute NPI and VAVE programs from concept to launch.
- Manage program scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation using PROLaunch methodology.
- Ensure high quality of new products and enhance existing products for all product lines.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
- Introduce standard processes, methods, and models to project management.
- Build strong project management capability within Life Safety.
- Drive continuous improvement and cost optimisation through a strong VAVE execution strategy.
- Collaborate with Product Line Managers to define technical roadmaps and prioritise engineering initiatives.
- Facilitate cross‑functional team coordination across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
- Liaise with global/EMEA Eaton program management, Engineering Functional excellence teams to ensure alignment.
- Supervise engineering teams present within the same site.
- Establish and maintain active collaboration with other engineering leaders within Life Safety and within EATON.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or master’s degree in Engineering and PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in program management in engineering or product development in the electronics industry.
- Proficiency knowledge of technologies in Life Safety or related product domains is beneficial.
- Proven success at delivering NPI and VAVE projects – understanding project management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to organize and prioritise work, and ability to work in team and under pressure.
- Communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills are important as well as working in a matrixed multi‑site environment.
