Responsibilities

- Responsible for the execution of the engineering portion of a multi-discipline scope of work on one or more projects, coordinating and completing engineering and start-up aspects to meet HSSE, quality, schedule, and budget goals, and ensuring technical excellence across all disciplines.
- Drive technical assurance on the assigned scope(s) of work; manage and lead discipline engineering teams; manage key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities; develop and retain motivated and competent people; undertake the role of process owner; drive safety by design; and lead opportunities for innovation.
May participate directly in the design, development and inspection of technical projects or in the engineering work of the department. The Engineering Manager leads by example, upholding the company values and behaviours to ensure safe and reliable operations and client satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Driving technical assurance: promote procedures, assist in incident investigations, monitor compliance, roll out learning opportunities, focus on process safety, and embed lessons learned.
- Identify and mitigate risk and improvement opportunities; manage and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams; manage stakeholder relationships; ensure appropriately resourced and competent personnel on projects/contracts.
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the activities of a multidisciplinary engineering team; participate in recruitment, performance management, and talent development; ensure resources are aligned with project requirements.
- Oversee engineering content of project execution plans; manage resources efficiently; negotiate with clients; review technical work; resolve complex issues and facilitate agreements among stakeholders.
Undertaking the role of process owner
- Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for engineering and technical work; guide the application of existing principles and development of new policies and strategies aligned with organizational objectives; monitor regulatory and technology developments.
Working Relationships
Internal
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships across business interfaces; promote function within the organization; coordinate with Heads of Disciplines and Heads of Engineering to ensure resourcing of competent personnel.
External
- Communicate and cooperate with external stakeholders including industry bodies, academia, vendors, client interfaces, market intelligence, conferences, and business development opportunities.
Level Of Influence & Decision-Making Authority
- Influence long-term profitability, operations and technical results of the business group or function; accountable for the engineering function budget; develop annual functional budgets and forecast updates.
- Line management for all personnel within the contract/project Engineering team; manage change and organizational change; develop key talent and leadership succession planning; deliver against performance KPIs.

- Expected: B.S. or equivalent degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university; minimum 20+ years of relevant experience in major Brownfield oil & gas projects, including at least five (5) years in a similar position.
- Knowledge, skills and experience: Specific experience in Oil and Gas projects across their lifecycle in the GCC region is preferred; Pre-FEED, FEED experience is required; Detailed Engineering experience is preferred.
