Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan in Ras Al Khaimah is seeking an Engineering Manager to support the Director of Engineering in maintaining the hotel’s physical plant, mechanical, electrical and life safety systems.

The role involves organizing preventive maintenance, supervising teams and contractors, writing specifications, prioritizing projects, ensuring health and safety compliance, liaising with authorities, and reporting major defects.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical and electrical engineering.
• At least 3 years supervisory experience in hospitality.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Organize and set up preventive maintenance programmes for all electrical and mechanical equipment, including general building works.
• Supervise maintenance employees and contractors performing building, electrical and mechanical work.
• Write specifications for electrical, mechanical and related building works compliant with local regulations.
• Decide and set priorities for electrical and mechanical projects with the Director of Engineering.
• Advise on health and safety matters relating to electricity and work regulations.
• Liaise with local government authorities when necessary.
• Oversee life safety systems maintenance and report major defects to the Director of Engineering.

Job Description

We are currently seeking for passionate and dynamic Engineering professionals who pride themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of customer service and provide creative solutions to our guests.

As an Engineering Manager you are responsible to assist the Director of Engineering on all matters related to the repairs and maintenance operation of the physical plant and engineering facilities within the hotel. The role involves maintaining all mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment, including heating and ventilation and will include key responsibilities such as:

• . Organize and set up preventive maintenance programmes for all electrical and mechanical equipment, including general building works
• . Supervise maintenance employees and contractors who are carrying out minor building work, electrical and mechanical installations
• . Write specifications for all electrical, mechanical and associated building works, complying with the local government regulations
• . Decide and agree with the Director of Engineering on the priorities of all electrical and mechanical projects
• . Advise and inform the Director of Engineering on any health and safety matters relating to the electricity and work regulations
• . Liaise with the local government authorities when necessary
• . Oversee the general maintenance of all life safety systems throughout the hotel and report any major defects to the Director of Engineering

Skills

Education, Qualifications & Experiences

You should be holding a degree in mechanical and electrical engineering and should have at least three years experiences in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry. A good command of written and spoken English and the ability to find fault and rectify subsystems are essentials.
