Overview

Project

Delivery of a 150 MMSCFD raw gas gathering and compression facility, gas processing facility and all associated storage tanks, gathering lines and connecting pipelines to the existing gas network and export terminal.

Location

Dubai, UAE, with occasional visits to the project site in Iraq

Job Purpose
  • Provide strategic leadership and overall execution oversight for FEED and Detail Engineering projects in the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Drive technical excellence, governance, and delivery quality across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Align engineering activities with project objectives, schedule, and budget; ensure compliance with codes, standards, and HSE requirements.
  • Mentor senior engineers, build high-performance teams, and promote best practices in engineering design, safety, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams (process, mechanical, piping, civil, structural, instrumentation, electrical) across FEED and detail phases.
  • Establish technical standards, design bases, and reference architectures; approve key engineering deliverables and technical decisions.
  • Oversee scope management, manpower planning, scheduling, and cost control for engineering activities.
  • Implement robust QA / QC processes, document control, and change management practices (MOC / Change Requests).
  • Manage interfaces with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders; ensure timely issue resolution and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO, NFPA, IEC where relevant) and project-specific requirements.
  • Review and approve drawings, datasheets, specifications, models, and calculations; monitor design integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, technology adoption, and standardization across projects.
  • Support procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities as needed; contribute to as-built documentation.
  • Develop and manage execution plans, man-hour estimates, and budgets for the engineering scope.
  • Lead talent development, performance reviews, and succession planning for the engineering organization.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices; champion innovation and value-added solutions.
Experience
  • 20+ years of experience in FEED and Detail Engineering and EPCM experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proven experience in oil & gas projects in the Middle East - mandatory
  • Extensive experience in gas processing facilities projects – mandatory
  • Experience with Tier-1 or Tier-2 Consultants (preferable, managing consultants from the client side)
  • Demonstrated track record delivering large-scale FEED / detail projects and effective engineering leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering (mechanical, chemical, electrical, civil)
  • Professional memberships or certifications (PE, Chartered Engineer) are a plus.
  • Advanced certifications in project / engineering management, HSE, or discipline-specific areas are advantageous.
Technical Skills
  • Strong leadership in FEED / Detail engineering and project delivery.
  • Proficiency with multi-discipline design tools and workflows; experience in piping, process, mechanical, and electrical interfaces.
  • Familiarity with MOC / Change control, document control, and QA / QC standards.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards relevant to oil & gas projects (ASME, API, ISO, NFPA, etc.).
  • Experience with scheduling, cost control, and earned value management at the project level.
  • Ability to review complex engineering deliverables, perform risk assessments, and drive issue resolution.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
