Job summary

CERT The Centre of Excellence for Applied Research & Training in Abu Dhabi seeks qualified faculty to teach engineering technology and science courses with an applied, real-world focus. Ideal candidates hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, with a minimum of three years teaching at a tertiary level and substantial industrial

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant discipline as appropriate.
• Master's Degree in an engineering discipline, including applied engineering technology, aeronautical, chemical, civil, electrical, electronics, marine, mechanical, mechatronics engineering, petroleum, math/physics, and a professional certification relevant to the discipline.
• Appropriate academic/professional qualifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in line with course and program goals to meet student and community needs.
• Develop and utilize educational technology resources for effective instruction.
• Provide feedback on student progress using tests, projects, assignments and other evaluations.
• Take a student-centered approach, offering individual assistance and liaising with the student and supervisors as required.
• Support and mentor students during internships and work placements; maintain regular office hours to advise students.
• Prepare teaching assignments in advance and present material to support student success and learning-by-doing.
• Develop course curriculum under guidance to meet accreditation and international standards.
• Contribute to program and course reviews and provide input from consultations with students and colleagues.
• Monitor programs and participate in college policies, supporting continuous improvement.
• Ensure curriculum aligns with multicultural environment and industry practices.
