Job summary

EDGE, a UAE-based advanced technology group, is seeking a seasoned QA engineer to ensure high-quality, secure software for BEACON RED. The role emphasizes designing, executing, and automating comprehensive test cases across functional, API, and UI layers.

You will drive defect analysis, test automation, and validation within a DevOps-enabled SDLC. Ideal candidates bring 5–7 years of QA/testing experience, ISTQB, and strong automation + API testing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
• 5-7 years of QA/testing experience in software development (Python or Golang).
• ISTQB Foundation or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Hands-on experience with test management tools.
• Experience with automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar).
• Strong API testing skills (Postman, REST Assured, or similar).
• Working knowledge of SQL, databases, and data validation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Understanding of SDLC, Agile, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust) is a plus.
• Basic understanding of security testing concepts (OWASP Top 10).

Responsibilities

• Designs, maintains, and executes functional, regression, integration, API, and UI test cases.
• Develops and maintains automated test scripts (UI/API) using approved automation frameworks.
• Performs defect identification, documentation, triage, and root-cause analysis.
• Participates in planning, backlog grooming, and requirement reviews to ensure testability and clarity.
• Ensures that all features meet acceptance criteria, NFRs, and internal quality standards before release.
• Collaborates with developers to reproduce issues and validate fixes.
• Conducts smoke tests, sanity tests, and release validation for each deployment.
• Executes performance, load, and security test scenarios where required.
• Maintains QA documentation including test plans, test reports, and regression suites.
• Supports continuous improvement of testing processes, automation coverage, and QA tooling.
• Conducts environment validation, data validation, and test data preparation.

About The Role

To ensure the delivery of high-quality, secure, reliable, and mission-ready software products for BEACON RED by designing, executing, and automating comprehensive test cases. The role is responsible for identifying defects early in the development lifecycle; validating functional and non-functional requirements, including performance, security, usability, and reliability
