Job summary

DESCON ENGINEERING, UAE BU is seeking a Planning & Scheduling Engineer to develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. You will prepare baseline programmes, look-ahead schedules, and progress reports while monitoring progress and coordinating with multiple teams to ensure timely execution.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 5–10 years of planning and scheduling experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, Refinery, Petrochemical, Infrastructure, or Construction projects.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling, project controls, critical path analysis, and resource planning.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Develop maintain and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and or Microsoft Project
• Prepare baseline programmes look-ahead schedules recovery plans and progress measurement reports
• Monitor site activities and compare actual progress against planned schedules
• Coordinate with Construction Engineering Procurement QA QC and HSE teams to ensure timely project execution
• Identify schedule delays potential risks and critical path activities and recommend corrective actions
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports S-curves manpower histograms and productivity analyses
• Track project milestones key deliverables and work-front availability to ensure adherence to project timelines
• Monitor resource utilization including manpower equipment and materials and recommend optimization measures
• Participate in progress review meetings with internal stakeholders clients and subcontractors
• Maintain Work Breakdown Structure WBS and ensure all project activities are accurately reflected in the schedule
• Perform delay analysis and assist in the preparation of recovery and mitigation plans
• Ensure compliance with project planning procedures client requirements and contractual obligations
• Coordinate with site teams to obtain accurate progress updates and forecast future activities
• Generate planning reports and dashboards for project management decision-making

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 5 -10 years of planning and scheduling experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, Refinery, Petrochemical, Infrastructure, or Construction projects.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling, project controls, critical path analysis, and resource planning.
• Experience in progress monitoring, delay analysis, and reporting.
• Familiarity with WBS, S-Curves, Earned Value Management (EVM), and project control methodologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, project specifications, and construction methodologies.
• Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
• GCC project experience preferred.
