A leading engineering firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Energy Project Manager to identify and implement energy-saving measures. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering and be a Certified Energy Manager (CEM). Responsibilities include performing energy audits, overseeing retrofit projects, and ensuring compliance with international standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge in energy management and excellent project management skills. Abu Dhabi residency is mandatory.

Qualifications

Energy Project Manager (Immediate joiners preferred)
Objectives

The Energy Project Manager will be responsible for identifying, analysing, and implementing energy‑saving measures, ensuring compliance with international standards, and supporting sustainability goals. The role spans audit → IGA → design → implementation support → M&V to deliver guaranteed/shared savings under ESCO contracts and Client standards.

Scope of Services
  • Perform ASHRAE Level 1‑3 audits and IGAs; establish calibrated baselines and savings estimates.
  • Develop ECMs across HVAC/chilled water, lighting & controls, envelope/facades, and other equipment and process loads.
  • Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, and drawings; contribute to RFPs (ESCO and direct procurement).
  • Evaluate ESCO proposals (technical/commercial) and align scope with performance guarantees.
  • Oversee retrofit implementation, and commissioning/retro‑commissioning; manage change control.
  • Develop and execute IPMVP M&V plans (Options A‑D) with non‑routine adjustments and performance assurance.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is mandatory.
  • Additional certification in M&V is an added value.
  • Additional certification in ISO 50001, and project management is a plus.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of energy auditing, M&V, and energy management systems.
  • Proficient in data analysis, report writing, and dashboard creation (Power BI, MS Office).
  • Experience with technical tools for energy measurement and diagnostics.
  • Project management skills, including scheduling, resource allocation, and vendor management.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in ESCO within ESCOs or similar organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling large‑scale retrofit projects and working with international standards.
  • Previous involvement in projects deploying advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), automated demand response (ADR), or smart building technologies.
  • Familiarity with open protocols (e.g., Modbus, BACnet, MQTT) and relevant software tools for system configuration and data visualization.
  • Experience in preparing compliance documentation related to energy regulations, as well as developing processes, procedures, and guidelines to support energy integration and ensure adherence to internal policies and regulations.
  • Experienced in leading ISO 50001 certification renewal processes is highly desirable.
  • Experience in retrofitting petrol stations using the ESCO mechanism in Abu Dhabi is mandatory.

Other Requirements
  • Valid driving license.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
  • Abu Dhabi residency is mandatory.
