Job summary

A leading engineering company in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an Electrician for a contract role. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of power plant experience, specifically in the disassembly and reassembly of electrical components for gas and steam turbines. Responsibilities include electrical connections, testing sensors, and preparing items for assembly. Candidates must be electrically qualified and experienced in large power plant projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years working on power plant outages with skillset covering inspection, fact finding, service and maintenance.
• Ability to carry out the full electrical disassembly and reassembly of gas and steam turbine electrical components.

Overview

Electrician – Contract

Responsibilities

• Electrical connections for disassembly
• Disconnection of all cables to including but limited to; Sensors (Humming, Speed & vibration), combustion equipment and thermocouple, as needed for the disassembly of GT
• Disconnection of Fire Fighting cable as needed to remove the enclosure roof
• Fact finding of instruments and cables and updating replacement or repair reports
• Preparation of items for assembly prior to handover
• Re-assembly of instruments and cable as per the marked or referenced position
• Testing of all the sensors before closing the casings like bearing casing, combustion chamber instrument etc., after reconnection and making sure the functionality.
• Providing the final report

Required Experience & Skills

• Must hold Power plant experience, ideally within large CCPP projects
• 5+ years working on power plant outages with skillset covering inspection, factfinding, service and maintenance
• Ability to carry out the full electrical disassembly and reassembly of gas and steam turbine electrical components
• Electrically qualified
