Job summary

Ducab seeks a maintenance electrician to assist the Maintenance and Electrical Supervisor in delivering timely maintenance and efficient electrical services to our UAE plants, ensuring optimum operation, minimum downtime, and maximum asset life.

You will perform preventive and breakdown maintenance, install electrical equipment for new projects, input data into the ERP system, and coordinate with contractors to ensure safe, compliant and continuous production.

Qualifications

• Essential: Secondary School Certificate with a vocational certificate in Electrician trade with Technical knowledge in the Electrical trade.
• Good knowledge of PLC drive troubleshooting and programming.
• 2 to 4 years of relevant electrical maintenance experience in a large manufacturing plant, preferably with an ERP system e.g. SAP.

Responsibilities

• Undertake breakdown maintenance and repairs to enable quick recovery of production.
• Undertake preventive maintenance in line with the maintenance plan to minimize breakdowns.
• Carry out installation of electrical equipment for new projects and existing machines.
• Input maintenance data in the ERP system to ensure reliability and accuracy of maintenance records.
• Coordinate power supply and assist outsourced work with contractors to ensure timely completion.

Job description

Assist the Maintenance and Electrical Supervisor to provide timely maintenance and efficient electrical engineering services to Ducab’s assets to ensure optimum operation, minimum loss time, and maximum asset life.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Policies, Processes and Procedures

• Implement all Standard Operating Procedures and processes

Tool Box

• Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by the company safely and in good working condition to ensure they are ready for use
• Arrange for repair or replacement of any tools and safety gear that may not be in good working condition

Time Management

• Carry out all electrical and electronic jobs in line with assigned time standards
• Notify the Maintenance Supervisor if additional resources are required to carry out the job within the assigned time frame

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)

• Follow all relevant HSE policies, procedures & guidelines
• Follow safe and efficient work methods using proper equipment, tools and protective clothing specified for the job to avoid personal injury and equipment and product damage
• Implement 5S principles to keep the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after executing the job

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives for innovation and continuous improvement

Breakdown Maintenance

• Undertake breakdown maintenance and repairs when requested to enable quick recovery of production
• Analyze electrical breakdowns to propose preventive action and avoid repetitive breakdowns
• Carry out utility and electrical corrective maintenance activities in pursuit of efficiency and maintainability

Preventive Maintenance

• Undertake preventive maintenance in line with the maintenance job plan and machine availability to minimize breakdown maintenance
• Participate in the assigned plant shutdown activities to support timely completion of planned shutdown
• Monitor the electrical equipment the electrician is accountable for to enable efficient maintenance in a planned manner
• Exercise vigilance and troubleshoot simple or developing problems in order to ensure continuity of operations and elevate those beyond own capability to ensure effective resolution

Electrical Installation

• Undertake the installation of electrical equipment for new projects and for existing machines

Asset Management System

• Complete the ERP maintenance activity sheet after completion of the assigned job and highlight areas of concern
• Input maintenance data in the Asset Management System to ensure the reliability and accuracy of maintenance data in the system

Out Sourced Activities

• Analyze jobs and communicate to the Electrical or the Maintenance Supervisor to assist them by coordinating power supply, fixing minor faults, technicalities to complete the specified tasks
• Provide contractor’s craftsmen with guidance to support the efficient execution of outsourced work

KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
