Job summary

SD (Middle East) LLC in Dubai, UAE, is seeking an Electrical Technician - Installation to install and commission electrical equipment for industrial automation and baggage/material handling systems. Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical or ITI (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of experience installing and commissioning electrical equipment in industrial automation or baggage/material handling systems.
• Hands-on knowledge of operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated systems.
• Able to adjust and modify equipment according to engineering changes.
• Good understanding of baggage/material handling systems flow.
• Analytical with problem-diagnosis and root-cause analysis.
• Awareness of quality and safety procedures.
• Capable of leading a small maintenance team and coordinating tasks.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission equipment per supervisor instructions, following SOPs and site safety rules.
• Perform installation tasks including reading drawings, wiring panels, field termination, and testing.
• Ensure safe working environment by using PPE and adhering to safety procedures.
• Conduct periodic checks and maintenance inspections as per checklist.
• Assist other disciplines/teams to reach project goals.
• Manage tools for the shift and ensure proper usage and maintenance.
• Comply with occupational health, safety, security, environment, and quality guidelines.

What are my responsibilities?

• Install and commission equipment according to the supervisor's instructions, fully complying with SOPs and Site Safety rules and regulations.
• Execute installation works, including reading drawings, panel wiring, field termination, cable containment, cable glands, electrical testing, and commissioning support.
• Use of suitable PPE and strict adherence to safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.
• Carries out periodical checks/maintenance inspections stated on the checklist.
• Assist other disciplines/teams in reaching the project goal.
• Takes charge of the tools required for the shift’s job task and ensures proper usage and maintenance.
• Adheres to all safety rules and regulations and takes appropriate precautions during working hours.
• Safety: Will be responsible/accountable for following occupational health, safety, security, environment, and quality.

What do I need to qualify for the role?

• Diploma in Electrical or Industrial Training Institute certification (ITI), or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Installing and Commissioning Electrical equipment in the Industrial automation project or in Baggage/Material Handling Systems.
• Hands-on knowledge of operations, maintenance, and technical troubleshooting of automated systems.
• Able to adjust and modify equipment according to Engineering changes and actual situations.
• Good understanding of Baggage/Material Handling Systems flow.
• Analytical, good at problem diagnosis and root cause analysis etc.
• Reviewing and assessing current processes and deduction of improvements.
• Awareness/Knowledge of quality/safety procedures.
• Being able to be responsible for a small group of maintenance assistants.
• Good communication skills in the English language, and important to have worked in different cultural areas adapting to the cultural work ethics.
