Overview
The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, testing, and repairs while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The technician will support operational readiness, maintain accurate maintenance records, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical maintenance activities with focus on safety, quality, and reliability.
- Conduct planned and corrective maintenance, inspections, and testing on plant electrical systems and components.
- Maintain and test equipment such as transformers, motors, switchgear, generators, UPS, DC systems, and relays.
- Perform electrical tests including Tan Delta, Insulation Resistance (IR), Winding Resistance (WR), and Transformer Turn Ratio (TTR).
- Use test instruments such as Omicron Sibano 500, CT Analyzer, CPC 100, CP TD, and Testrano 600.
- Inspect and maintain switchgear, perform Circuit Breaker (CB) timing, IR, CRM, and anti-pumping relay tests.
- Test motors using IR, PI, DAR, RFC, and MCA methods.
- Maintain generators, perform carbon brush replacement, and generator CT testing.
- Perform DC system maintenance including UPS, inverters, and battery inspections.
- Test protection relays using primary and secondary injection methods.
- Inspect and test Instrument and Power Bus (IPB) and Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR).
- Plan and prepare maintenance work, ensuring required tools and materials are available.
- Attend job briefings and document maintenance activities accurately.
- Support outages and emergency response operations, including shift or off-hour work.
- Participate in training and adhere to maintenance and safety procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance practices and work instructions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in electrical maintenance (preferably in power or industrial environments).
- Experience in nuclear or high-risk environments is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in inspection, maintenance, and testing of electrical systems (transformers, motors, switchgear, generators, DC systems, relays).
- Skilled in using electrical testing instruments (Omicron Sibano 500, CT Analyzer, CPC 100, Testrano 600).
- Knowledge of IR, Tan Delta, and injection testing methods.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Good documentation, communication, and safety awareness.
- Able to work independently and under pressure.
