We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC for an :

Electrical Supervisor (HV Cable Jointing)

Job Purpose :

This position is a unique opportunity for you to work on DEWA Substations Projects and be responsible for Supervising the departmental / contracts site works of 11 kV, and 33kV Substation installation & Commissioning in order to ensure quality & Safety and timely completion of Projects

Responsibilities

• 1 Equipment and transportation, Installation : Supervise the departmental / contracts site works of 11 kV, 33KV Substation installation & Commissioning in order to ensure quality & Safety and timely completion of Projects
• 2 Earthing / Installation : Check, Test equipment, record test results of 11kV & 33KV SS equipment before / after rigging & Installation, based on procedures & work instructions, in order to ensure DEWA quality standards and maintain records
• 3 Checking of substation equipment : Collect work permit from SOD, attend outages for substation equipment installation, uprating, modification & system voltage conversion, as applicable, as per procedures in order to complete the substation commissioning works.
• 4 Confidentiality : Ensure non-disclosure of confidential information to anyone within or outside the Authority, during or after employment in DEWA.
• 5 Safety : Follow and adhere to the OH&S Management System Manual as per DEWA's safety standards.
• 6 Others : Perform any other tasks as assigned by the reporting manager.
• 7 Job Orders & Invoicing : Receive new job orders from planning section and allot to contractors.
• 8 To study the CAR with ring diagram & to understand NOC drawings
• 9 Prepare Weekly and daily plan for cable jointing
• 10 To provide necessary NOCs and all related documents to contractor. Ensure closure of job order on SAP system.
• 11 Ensure that materials reconciliations. Manpower / vehicle time sheets and necessary update to completed. Certification of invoice submitted by contractors.
• 12 Weekly Planning Meetings : Arrange coordination meeting with contractors for weekly cable jointing progress planning as per contractual targets and other related issues. Monitor the progress on daily basis to achieve weekly target.
• 13 Coordination with roads & Transport authority, Dubai Municipality, developer and other agencies to resolve the site issues. To attend and Coordinate with internal DEWA departments and section to ensure smooth completion of job.
• 14 Ensure non-disclosure of confidential information to anyone within or outside the authority, during or after employment in DEWA.
• 15 Manage issue and return of material from DEWA stores to contractors. Verification / inspection of materials reconciliation on monthly bases and forward material reconciliation / store checking report to section / department head.
• 16 Certification of as-built drawings of completed works for GIS update and for final completion certificate from Roads and Transport Authority.

Profile

• Ideally, you will have graduated in Electrical Engineering with a minimum experience of 3 years in HV Cable Jointing works, Underground utilities, and infrastructure works for substations.
• You are fluent in English
• You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
