Job description
Project Management and Supervision
  • Supervise, plan, and coordinate electrical work on assigned projects, ensuring tasks are completed according to schedule and budget.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to confirm compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
  • Identify and address potential issues to minimize delays and ensure smooth project flow.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of electricians, apprentices, and assistants.
  • Assign daily tasks, provide technical guidance, and support team members in troubleshooting complex electrical problems.
  • Ensure a productive and positive work environment that promotes adherence to safety and quality standards.
Quality Control
  • Conduct quality checks on completed electrical installations to ensure they meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and address any issues in workmanship, materials, or practices that could impact project quality or safety.
Safety and Compliance
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols on the job site to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and on-site inspections to identify and address hazards.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes, including electrical and building regulations.
Resource Management
  • Coordinate ordering and management of materials, tools, and equipment to ensure efficient resource use.
  • Maintain inventory control, and ensure tools and materials are used properly and stored safely.
  • Track resource usage and suggest cost‑saving measures.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, labour hours, and incidents.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on project status, team performance, and any issues encountered.
Coordination and Communication
  • Work collaboratively with other trade supervisors, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Communicate project status and issues to the Project Manager and resolve conflicts as they arise.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical work is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical work, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Certifications: Valid electrician’s license; additional certifications in safety, project management, or electrical systems are advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
