Electrical Inspector

Job Description

Perform difficult and sometimes complex inspection tasks related to LV network, street lighting, pumping station, traffic signals, etc.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests to determine if work has been performed according to contract specifications, including electrical and mechanical tests.
• Perform destructive and nondestructive tests on metals and other materials through magnaflex, dye penetrant, radiographic, tension and compression, paint thickness, and resistivity.
• Surveil underground piping to ensure tightness, bedding, and grade.
• Validate piping systems, including P&ID checks and hydraulic or other pressure tests.
• Inspect electrical installations to ensure proper grounding, circuit integrity, and adherence to statutory and customer regulations.
• Continuously inspect painting and insulation to ensure thickness and coverage continuity.
• Provide general inspection of all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
• Verify equipment alignment and balancing operations; participate in the development of quality control reports and procedures.
• Participate in the development of job safety practices and preparation of safety reports.
• May administer welder qualification tests.
• Perform other responsibilities as appropriate.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree or at least 3‑year diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years construction work experience related to LV network, street lighting, traffic signals, pumping/lifting station, storm water, sewerage, and general infrastructure projects, preferably in the region.
• Good written and oral communication, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a project team.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction‑related processes in the area of assignment.

Desired Skills

• Experience working on DEWA/DM projects in Dubai.
• Ability to attend in‑person interviews.
