Job description

The Electrical Engineer (MEP) is responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and low‑voltage systems. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Design & Engineering: Design and develop power distribution, lighting, ELV, and fire alarm systems; prepare electrical shop drawings, load calculations, and technical submittals; conduct voltage drop calculations, short circuit analysis, and power factor correction; review and approve electrical designs, BOQs, and specifications.
  • Project Coordination & Execution: Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and structural engineers; supervise installation of cabling, panels, transformers, generators, and UPS systems; work with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to UAE electrical codes, DEWA regulations, and international standards (IEC, NEC, IEEE, etc.); maintain documentation for design approvals, permits, and regulatory compliance; assist in tender preparation, budgeting, and contract evaluation.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Oversee the testing and commissioning of electrical systems; troubleshoot power quality issues and system failures; implement energy‑efficient solutions for sustainable power usage.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 4–8 years of experience in MEP electrical design and project execution.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux, ETAP, and other electrical design software.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, ELV, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
  • Familiarity with UAE electrical regulations (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, etc.).
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
