Job Summary
CATEC is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. This role focuses on the design, installation, and commissioning of EV charging stations and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with local regulations and global standards. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on expertise in electrical engineering, project execution, and troubleshooting, along with a passion for sustainable energy technologies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and Development
- Develop electrical designs for EV charging stations, including AC and DC chargers, power distribution, and load management.
- Prepare and review electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation to meet project requirements.
- Create and manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure accurate materials procurement.
- Update and maintain project documentation, including modifications to electrical designs.
- Design renewable energy integration solutions (e.g., solar PV systems).
- Participate in training sessions and professional development initiatives provided by CATEC to enhance technical skills and industry knowledge.
2. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with UAE‑specific regulations (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, and Estidama).
- Perform risk assessments and prepare safety documentation.
3. Testing and Commissioning
- Conduct site assessments and prepare technical feasibility reports.
- Oversee electrical installation and commissioning of EV charging stations and associated systems.
- Conduct routine inspections to verify compliance with specifications, safety standards, and local regulations.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues during installation and commissioning phases to ensure system functionality.
- Test and commission high‑power chargers, ensuring system reliability.
4. Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in installed charging systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on chargers and supporting infrastructure.
5. Coordination and Communication
- Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Attend site meetings and provide updates on task progress and project status.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient completion of assigned tasks.
6. Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards, including adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols.
- Report safety hazards and compliance issues promptly and participate in regular safety briefings.
Requirements
Education : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience : 3‑5 years in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or EV charging solutions, preferably in construction environments.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in designing LV and HV electrical systems, including load calculations, cable sizing, and grounding systems. Exposure to ADNOC or similar projects is an advantage.
- Experience in load calculations, power factor correction, and grounding systems.
- Knowledge with testing and troubleshooting tools (e.g., megger, multimeter, earth tester).
- Hands‑on experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools for creating electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, local authority regulations (e.g., DEWA, ADDC, SEWA), and safety regulations (IEC, IEEE).
- Familiarity with ADNOC standards is preferred.

Certifications (Preferred)
- DEWA / ADDC / SEWA‑approved engineer certification.
- Estidama certification.
