Job description

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and oversight of electrical systems and infrastructure for various projects. This role involves performing site assessments, creating project specifications, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team of engineers, architects, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Design
  • Design and develop electrical systems for projects, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, and other specialized systems.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents to ensure electrical designs meet project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations, design drawings, and technical reports.
Installation and Supervision
  • Oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems on construction sites.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to ensure that electrical systems meet project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams, contractors, and clients.
Quality Control and Compliance
  • Ensure that all electrical systems comply with local, state, and federal electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Identify and address potential issues during project implementation, and propose corrective actions when necessary.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure reliability and safety of electrical installations.
Project Coordination
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to source materials, equipment, and components required for projects.
  • Prepare and present project updates, reports, and technical documentation to clients and management.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, including design changes, material specifications, and inspection reports.
  • Prepare and submit detailed project documentation, including as-built drawings, testing reports, and maintenance procedures.
  • Participate in project review meetings and contribute to project planning and progress discussions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the contracting or construction industry.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and ETAP.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
