Role Profile: Electrical Engineer
This is a greenfield CCGT project with a net power capacity of 2400 MW, located about 50 km north‑east of Abu Dhabi city. The project will comprise the plant and associated Electrical Special Facilities (ESF). You will be engaged through the full lifecycle: design, engineering, construction and operation.
Location: Taweelah, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Project Duration: 3 to 4 years
Responsibilities
- Project Planning: Collaborate with project teams to develop and review electrical engineering project plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Design Analysis: Review design documents prepared by the EPC contractor, attend design review meetings, and review special studies performed by third parties, providing comments.
- Equipment Selection & Sourcing: Assist in selecting appropriate electrical equipment and materials, and collaborate with procurement teams to source high‑quality, cost‑effective components.
- Construction Oversight: Oversee electrical construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards, and address on‑site engineering issues.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control measures for electrical engineering components and conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with industry standards.
- Budget & Cost Management: Collaborate with project managers and cost engineers to develop, manage and monitor electrical engineering budgets, ensuring projects stay within constraints.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation of electrical engineering activities, prepare regular progress reports for project management.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between the electrical engineering team and other stakeholders, providing regular updates to senior management on progress and challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5–7 years of proven experience as an Electrical Engineer in power generation (CCGT) or EPC projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices and standards.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
