Job summary

SHEIKH KHALIFA HOSPITAL FUJAIRAH seeks a qualified Electrical Engineer to oversee the hospital’s electrical systems on site. You will supervise operation, evaluate systems against standards, and ensure safety and reliability using CAFM and CAD tools.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, PE license or equivalent, and 3–5 years’ experience in manufacturing or energy sectors. You will coordinate with contractors, review drawings, and ensure MOH and JCI compliance.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor the operation of all hospital electrical systems using the Computer‑Aided Facilities Management CAFM system
• Evaluate electrical systems, products, components and applications by applying engineering knowledge and relevant technical standards
• Confirm functionality and safety of systems and components through routine preventive maintenance and inspections
• Oversee electrical infrastructure in critical areas such as generators, UPS systems, emergency power supplies and lighting installations
• Focus on preventive maintenance measures to ensure uninterrupted electrical services and minimize downtime
• Diagnose electrical problems and implement corrective actions promptly when malfunctions occur
• Supervise the installation of new electrical components, equipment and fittings in compliance with hospital standards and regulations
• Recommend replacement or upgrading of outdated or faulty electrical systems, components, and fittings to hospital management
• Understand and interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for electrical installations
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, and service providers both verbally and in writing
• Attend technical meetings to discuss project progress, issues, and improvement plans
• Inspect electrical systems and components before, during, and after installation to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
• Supervise testing procedures to identify electrical faults and propose appropriate solutions
• Ensure all electrical work adheres to MOH regulations, JCI accreditation standards, and hospital policies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant certifications, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering roles, preferably within manufacturing or energy sectors
• Experience with CAD software and simulation tools, showcasing proficiency in design and analysis
