Job summary

A leading marine engineering firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to supervise the installation and maintenance of electrical systems in ship repair and shipbuilding projects. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience, preferably in GCC countries, and should possess a valid UAE driving license. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with industry standards, conducting functional testing, and managing project timelines.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in shipbuilding or ship repair.
• Good experience may be considered in lieu of diploma.
• GCC work experience or experience within UAE is preferred.
• Valid UAE driving license is required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise Electrical Work: Oversee installation commissioning maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems in ship repair and shipbuilding projects.
Technical Compliance: Ensure electrical systems meet design specifications industry standards and project requirements.
Testing & Commissioning: Conduct functional testing of electrical systems including generators switchboards motors and control panels.
Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve faults in electrical circuits control systems and power distribution networks.
Resource Management: Manage manpower materials and equipment to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.
Project Coordination: Work closely with the project engineer production teams and other departments to meet project timelines.
Safety Enforcement: Implement safety measures conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of electrical work inspection reports and material usage for project documentation.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for efficiency enhancement in electrical installations and maintenance activities.
