Job description

Our Tier 1 Main Contracting Client has a new requirement for a number of well experienced Electrical CAD Draughtsman to join their team in Dubai to work on high profile new build villa projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as an Electrical CAD Draughtsman working on high profile projects in the UAE with preference given to those with prior experience in working for recognised Main Contracting Companies. This role is available for immediate joining and is a 6‑Month Contract position employed as an outsource candidate through J10 Consulting. There is an option to transfer to staff after 6 months to suit all parties.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and draft electrical plans: Using computer‑aided design (CAD) software to create electrical drawings, plans, and schematics. Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure that the electrical design meets project specifications and codes.
• Conduct field visits: MEP Electrical Draftsmen may conduct field visits to gather information, measurements, and photographs needed to accurately create electrical plans.
• Create material lists: Create detailed material lists for electrical components, including wiring, conduits, junction boxes, panels, and fixtures.
• Collaborate with other team members: MEP Electrical Draftsmen collaborate with other members of the MEP team, including mechanical and plumbing draftsmen, engineers, and project managers, to ensure that all systems are properly integrated.
• Follow safety protocols: They ensure that electrical plans and components meet safety standards and regulations, and that they comply with local and national codes.
• Update and revise plans: MEP Electrical Draftsmen update and revise plans as necessary throughout the project, based on changes in design or construction.
• Maintain documentation: They maintain accurate records and documentation of all electrical plans and revisions.
• Provide technical support: MEP Electrical Draftsmen provide technical support to construction teams and other professionals involved in the project, as needed.
• Stay up‑to‑date with industry standards and trends: They stay up‑to‑date with industry standards and trends to ensure that electrical plans and components are current and effective.

CAD Draughtsman – Electrical Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years overall experience with minimum 2 in the UAE.
• Strong proficiency in Electrical CAD Draughting & Detailing for villas and mansions.
• Previous experience of working in a recognised Main Contracting Company previously.
• Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience of working in Villa and residential projects.
