A leading energy firm in Dubai is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to oversee the preparation of electrical engineering drawings and related documentation. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality designs, ensuring compliance with standards, and collaborating effectively within teams. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Electrical Engineering and possess strong skills in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel, with 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

ELECTRICAL DESIGNER(offshore oil & gas)

Job Purpose

Preparation of electrical engineering drawings to the required industry addition the successful candidate will be required to undertake other functions related to preparation of Bill of Materials document control document archiving and maintenance of document register for engineering projects

Responsibilities

• Delivery of electrical drawings as per project requirements mainly Single Line Diagrams (SLD) Termination Drawings and General Arrangement Drawings (GA).
• Ensure timely completion of all allocated projects.
• Preparation and updating Cable Lists throughout project
• Preparation of Red‑Line markups after installations
• Create concept Single Line Diagrams for new scopes to be clarified with clients
• Preparation of Bill of Material lists (BOMs) for tender evaluations and checking to ensure scope is in accordance with drawings produced and vice versa.
• Ensure all relevant standards are followed
• Assist in updating databases standards and drawing tools.
• Review rough sketches drawings and other data to ensure that they comply with design concepts.
• Receive and register documents
• Control the issuance of document numbers including maintenance of proper document registers
• Ensure proper document classification sorting filing and proper archiving
• Review completeness of documentation and prepare document transmittals
• Willingness to learn PLC ladder logic programming Siemens Allen Bradley Schneider etc.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master of Electrical Engineer
• Minimum of 3 or 5 years of experience as an electrical designer
• AutoCAD 2D
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Understanding of Engineering and common / best practices.
• Understanding of IEC standards
• Understanding of hazardous areas on Drilling Rigs
