Job summary

ACCEL HUMAN RESOURCE CONSULTANTS is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for Substation Design in Dubai to lead projects from concept through energization. You will draft in AutoCAD and coordinate with utilities and vendors to ensure timely delivery and compliance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in substation design, strong IEC/IEEE knowledge, and fluent English communication for client interaction in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred).
• 5+ years in substation design with 2 complete projects from concept to energization.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for drafting; not just supervising drafters.
• Experience in preparing BOQs, sourcing quotes, and estimating total substation build costs.
• Knowledge of IEC 61936, IEC 62271, IEC 60076, IEEE 80, IEC 61850.
• Experience with ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or CDEGS.
• Experience navigating utility and grid operator design approvals.
• Excellent written and spoken English for client interactions.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred).
• Experience: 5+ years in substation design, with at least 2 complete projects delivered from concept through energization.
• Hands-On Skills: Strong command of primary/secondary design and the ability to personally draft in AutoCAD (not just manage drafters).
• Commercial Expertise: Proven experience preparing BOQs, sourcing vendor quotes, and estimating total substation build costs.
• Standards & Software:
• Solid working knowledge of IEC 61936, IEC 62271, IEC 60076, IEEE 80, and IEC 61850.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or CDEGS).
• Regulatory: Track record of navigating utility and grid operator design approval processes.
• Communication: Clear, professional written and spoken English for client and stakeholder interaction.
