Job summary

A healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi is seeking an EEG Technician to perform specialized neurodiagnostic procedures including EEG and Nerve Conduction Studies. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Radiography and a certificate in Neurotechnology, with at least two years of relevant experience. Proficiency in English is essential, and familiarity with Arabic is a plus. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Qualifications

  • Preferable to have 2 years of MRI training.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a related field.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English; Arabic is desirable.

Job Description

EEG Technician work closely with, and under the supervision of the Neurologists and perform Electroencephalography, Nerve Conduction Studies (including Electromyography, Repetitive Nerve Stimulation), and Evoked Potential Studies.

Responsibilities
  • 3.2 Should be well versed in preparing patients and recording high quality EEG and Nerve‑Muscle tracings and be able to detect and eliminate artifacts.
  • 3.3 Needs to have theoretical, technical and practical knowledge of special techniques in EEG like Photic stimulation, hyperventilation, adult and pediatric EEG montages, Electrode pasting for long term Video EEG, ICU recordings and Pediatric EEGs, Pruning EEG videos and important electrographic events; and NCS procedures like Repetitive Nerve Stimulation, comparative nerve studies and special nerve studies like Blink Reflex etc.
  • 3.4 Should have the ability to do or learn Evoked potentials, Intra‑operative peripheral or brain surface recordings.
  • 3.5 Cleans the electrodes and machines and stores them properly.
  • 3.6 Maintains apparatus, making minor adjustments when faults occur.
  • 3.7 Maintains stock of paper, electrodes, paste, jelly, EMG Needles etc.
  • 3.8 Takes care of proper storage of all apparatus.
  • 3.9 Keeps log book record of EEG and EMG procedures.
  • 3.10 Coordinate with Colleagues to maintain smooth lab functioning and emergency services whenever required.
  • 3.11 Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements.
  • 3.12 Work according to the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities.
  • 3.13 Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • 3.14 Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports.
  • 3.15 Comply with Waste management procedures and policies.
  • 3.16 Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs.
  • 3.17 Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
Qualifications
  • 3.3 College Degree in Radiography or its equivalent. Preferable to have MRI training of 2 years.
  • 3.4 A certificate/diploma holder in Neurotechnology.
  • 3.5 At least two (2) years of experience.
  • 3.6 Fluent in spoken and written English, Arabic language is desirable, but not essential.
