Job summary

Archirodon is seeking an E&I Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical, instrumentation, control and telecom scopes of EPC/EPCC tenders in the Middle East and North Africa. You will perform quantity take-offs, build unit rates and develop manpower plans for tight bid timelines across oil & gas, refinery and petrochemical projects.

The role requires 5–7 years of estimating experience in EPC projects, including GCC exposure, and hands-on pricing of E&I scopes for major client

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering is mandatory.
• 5–7 years of estimating experience in EPC Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical projects, preferably with at least 3 years in the GCC.
• Hands-on pricing of the E&I scope of NOC tenders (e.g. ADNOC, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, PDO, KOC).

Responsibilities

• Perform and verify quantity take-offs from drawings and perform detailed estimations for Electrical & Instrumentation scope.
• Build unit rates from first principles (labour, plant, materials, subcontract) adjusted for Middle East conditions.
• Prepare manpower histograms, tools and test equipment requirements and durations for planning input.
• Manage tight tender timelines and price lump-sum work with limited FEED and potentially indicative quantities.
• Consider risks from vendor packages, client free-issue items, and contractor scope splits.

The E&I Estimator prepares accurate, competitive and well-qualified cost estimates for the electrical, instrumentation, control and telecom scopes of EPC / EPCC tenders for oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical and gas-processing projects across the Middle East and North Africa.

Job Description

• Perform and verify quantity take-offs from single-line diagrams, cable schedules, instrument index, I/O lists, hook-up drawings, cable routing, earthing and lighting layouts; where FEED is limited, develop quantities from benchmarks, ratios and historical data.
• Identify scope gaps, ambiguities and risks – including vendor-package, free-issue and contractor scope splits – and prepare technical queries and clarifications for the client.
  • Develop detailed estimates for the entire scope Electrical & instrument works.
• Build unit rates from first principles (labour, plant, materials, subcontract) using productivity norms adjusted for Middle East conditions – summer working-hour restrictions, remote desert sites and logistics.
• Prepare manpower histograms, tools and test equipment requirements and durations, and provide inputs to planning and site indirects.
• Tight tender timelines, often with several bids running in parallel.
• Pricing lump-sum work with limited FEED, where cable and instrument quantities are often only indicative, with the risk of quantity growth.
• Volatile copper prices and long lead times for major electrical equipment and packaged control systems.
• Complex scope splits between vendor packages, client free-issue items and contractor scope.
• Different client standards, methods of measurement and commercial conditions from country to country.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering (mandatory).
• 5–7 years of estimating experience in EPC Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical projects, preferably with at least 3 years in the GCC.
• Hands-on pricing of the E&I scope of NOC tenders (e.g. ADNOC, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, PDO, KOC).
