Job summary

Tandem Search in Dubai is seeking a Risk & Compliance Officer to support risk, regulatory compliance, and conflicts across the firm’s practice. The role involves client due diligence, AML and sanctions checks, and the ongoing monitoring of client and matter changes.

The candidate will help ensure engagement terms are applied consistently, assist with information barriers, and deliver internal training to embed best practice within a global team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in a compliance function within a regulated organisation.
• Law degree or GDL qualification, with some legal work experience.
• AML experience.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Ability to identify conflicts and risk within a law firm (training provided if needed).
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
• High discretion handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Support matter inception and onboarding in line with regulatory standards and policy.
• Conduct client due diligence and review KYC documentation, AML and sanctions searches.
• Assist with engagement terms and review client-imposed terms.
• Perform ongoing monitoring and risk assessment of client and matter changes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date matter information.
• Review and help keep firm policies current with regulatory requirements.
• Support compliance reporting, including weekly/monthly status reports.
• Help set up information barriers and insider lists.
• Deliver internal training to embed best practice.
• Collaborate with other teams and support internal audits as needed.
